Fall TLC Funding Opportunities: Focused Inquiry Groups and the Open Teaching Initiative

The Teaching and Learning Center is pleased to announce that two new Focused Inquiry Groups (FIGs) — “Adapting Museum Pedagogy for the CUNY Classroom” and “Environmental Interdisciplinarity: Water Justice” are accepting applications from Graduate Center students. Click through the link above for a full description of the FIGs and application requirements.

We are also accepting applications for participants in this semester’s “Open Teaching Initiative: Classroom Visit Exchange.”

Applications for each of the above programs are due on October 20th. Selected participants will receive a stipend.

Las Vegas Post-Tragedy Counseling Services

Again we find ourselves facing a national tragedy—this time a mass assault and murder committed by one human being against others. For those who need a safe space to talk, The Graduate Center’s Student Counseling Service at the Wellness Center will have appointments available for confidential and supportive counseling sessions. New Quantitative Research Consulting Center

The Provost’s Office is happy to announce the establishment of the Quantitative Research Consulting Center (QRCC) to provide faculty and students greater resources for statistical support in quantitative and empirical research. The Center complements existing statistics coursework by bridging the gap between the classroom and implementation in researchers’ own work.

The new Center provides support for MA students, PhD students, post-docs, and faculty in any CUNY GC program at any stage of research. Support is provided in the following areas: statistical methods, statistical packages. Continue reading New Quantitative Research Consulting Center
