April 26-27 | New York Forum of Amazigh Film (NYFAF)

New York Forum of Amazigh Film  (NYFAF) – April 26 & 27 – Free! – LaGuardia Performing Arts Center

What’s it like to grow up in an indigenous North African community today? How do North African women in particular negotiate their personal and professional identities? And how can film help us engage in a discussion about gender across cultures?

Such questions drive the fourth edition of the The New York Forum of Amazigh Film (NYFAF) – North African indigenous cinema – on Thursday April 26 and Friday April 27 at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, NY. This year we focus on the theme: Coming of Age in the #MeToo Moment: North African Women’s Perspectives.  All shorts, docs and features are free. Invited expert and CUNY GC alumna Dr Fazia Aitel will present the Keynote talk. The musician Yuba will perform Thursday before an Amazigh Reception. For the full program see: https://www.nyfaf.com/

NYFAF is sponsored by The LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, LaGuardia Community College, and supported by The Columbia University Middle East Institute.
