Stats center Fall 2018

Fall greetings from the Quantitative Research Consulting Center. Come in to talk about your semester projects, proposal, thesis, dissertation, or any other quant project. Services are available free to all members of the GC community (Faculty, MA Students, PhD Students, Post-docs) from any program. Please help spread the word about this new service at the GC.

New working group meetings

This Fall, the QRCC will host 2 themed working groups. Come meet other researchers working dealing with the same statistical issues and work together/get feedback on your work. Deepali will host a working group meeting on 28 November on geospatial statistics. Kalina will host a working group meeting on 4 December on variable reduction. Email qrcc@gc.cuny.edu to let us know you are interested.

Make an appointment

Email us at qrcc@gc.cuny.edu or fill out the form at https://qrcc.commons.gc.cuny.edu/contact-us/ to make an appointment. Tell us a little about your project and how we can help. Projects can be in any state from a nascent idea about starting a quant project to addressing reviewer comments. Appointments are available Tuesdays-Fridays in the morning, afternoon, and evening with one of our three consultants. Fall appointments are available until 14 December (just 8 weeks left!).

Open office hours

If you have question or to get started, drop-in without an appointment 12:00PM-1:00PM Monday-Thursday in room 3204.04 in the Ed Psych space on the 3rd floor.

Remote appointments

If you are traveling away from the city or working at another CUNY campus, we can do remote consultations over skype, email, or phone.

Grant support letter

If you are submitting a grant to the NSF, NIH, etc this Fall/Winter, the QRCC can provide a letter of support. We can also review any stats/analysis plan and give feedback. If you’d like a letter, make an appointment to orient us to our project and send your grant proposal for us to review. We are here to help and we hope that a letter of support can increase the competitiveness of the grant.
