Urban Chiaroscuro, by Professor Amy Chazke  of the Graduate Center and Queens College. 6:30 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in the Graduate Center’s Room 9207.

“Theatre For All” presents the Art of Science Series -“The Silent Sky” by Lauren Gunderson, directed by Elowyn Castle will take presented in the Graduate Center, Room 4102 (Science Center), Wednesday, April 5, 2017, 6:30 p.m. A talk-back will follow the performance.

Freedom of the Press and Censorship Today. Mariza Bafile, ViceVersa Magazine; Enrique Del Risco Arocha, New York University; Romina Mella, The CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and Boris Muñoz, The New York Times, will discuss the issue of censorship, especially in view of the growing repression against the veracity of information in the United States and Latin America.  6:00 PM on Friday, April 7, 2017 in the Graduate Center, Rooms C-205.

Acts of Resistance: Civic Alternatives to Executive Overreach, a seminar by writer Atossa Abrahamian, moderated by Professor Michael Walzer, Institute of Advanced Studies, Princeton University, and editor of Dissent. Graduate Center Rooms C201/C202/C203 at 6:30 PM on Monday, April 17, 2017.

The 37th Annual Arthur Sweeny Jr. Memorial  Lecture – MOON ROCKS AND MELTING GELS will be presented by Professor Lisa C. Klein from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey on April 21, 2017. A reception will take place in the Lehman College Art Gallery at 4:15-5:15 P.M., the lecture will be in the Music Building, Room 306 at 5:15-6:30 P.M. State Violence and Masculine Authority on India’s Northwest Frontier, a talk by Prof. Elizabeth Kolsky of Villanova University. Thursday May 11, 2017 in the Graduate Center’s Room C-205.

The CUNY Academy’s Conference on War and the Urban Context will take place in the Graduate Center’s 9th Floor Skylight Room on Friday May 19, 2017, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
