Join us for a weekend celebration of We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965–85[brooklynmuseum.org]. On Saturday we present a special screening of artist Julie Dash’s acclaimed 1991 feature, Daughters of the Dust, and her early short films, followed by a panel discussion. Schedule:
- 1 pm Illusions (1982, 34 min.), Four Women (1975, 7 min.), and Diary of an African Nun, (1977, 13 min.)
- 2 pm Daughters of the Dust (1991, 112 min.)
- 4 pm Panel discussion with director Julie Dash, cinematographer Arthur Jafa, and actress and We Wanted a Revolution artist Alva Rogers
